About 3 months ago Jacob started walking along things and soon there after he went through a spurt where he LOVED standing up in the middle of the room. He would crawl along, stop and just stand up. His love of it may have had something to do with the cheers and clapping he got as a result. We kept thinking he was close to walking, but then even that behavior disappeared. Over a month ago he took his first step or two, then at Grandma's house at Christmas he did it over and over. Then it was back to full time crawling...until today. Nathan was vacuuming and all of a sudden he cried out in such an alarming voice I feared the worst as I ran to the other side of the house. There I found Nathan overflowing with excitement as he exclaimed, "Jacob just walked!" I expected it was the same that we had already seen, but no. He stood up and walked at least 8 steps before falling, standing up again, and walking some more. He did it over and over for more than 20 minutes. I guess he was finally ready! Go Jakie.
I think my favorite part though was seeing how incredibly happy it made his siblings. This video is about 15 minutes into the walking. I wish I had captured the first few minutes, just so you could see the other 2 kids.
