Grandma and Grandpa's House

Jared went hunting for a week, so the kids and I went to Grandma's and Grandpa's house. We had a blast. Grandma and Grandpa spoiled all 3 of us "kids" and were very patient with our noise and our messes. It was so nice to get to just hang out with my parents for a good amount of time without a lot going on. We had our late night talks, watched BYU football, ate amazing food, went shopping, enjoyed homemade ice cream (TWICE!), canned peaches, and just enjoyed being together. Jared says he wants a week long hunting trip to become a tradition. I'm all for that as long as we get to go to Grandma's and Grandpa's. FUN! What do you say Mom and Dad? Most likely, the craziness we bring will only get crazier. Are you up for it?

What troopers!! We finally get the two darling busy bodies to bed after a long day, our eyes are drooping, and Mom and Dad agree to help me can some peaches (lovingly grown by grandpa) for my peach-loving son. What a sacrifice! It brought back memories of the good 'ole days. :)Don't they look delicious? Mmmm. Best parents ever!

"Look Ma, no hands!" Tricky. ("Tricky" seems to have become the ulimate compliment that my children could ever get. They are thrilled when a "tricky" is bestowed upon any feat they have accomplished.)

Brielle became Grandma's little helper. They did many projects together during the week. Here Brielle is making Chocolate Eclair Dessert, all by herself (with Grandma directing, of course).Bre also made this fudge pie "all by herself" for Mom for her birthday. She helped Grandma make the peach pie too. Both were to die for delicious. Man, my Mom's a good cook!Making a "Happy Birthday" card."Can you taste the sparkles?!?"

Grandpa's specialty is homemade ice cream and he made it for us TWICE while we were there. Pure HEAVEN. Brielle was thrilled that the ice cream had "sparkles" in it and made sure that everyone else noticed and enjoyed it as well (She was referring to the difference in texture between homemade and store-bought ice cream). Life is good."Mo pease Bampa."

Grandma put the bowl of ice cream in front of Nathan and we forgot he was there for the silence(He was concentrating on the enjoyable task at hand)...until he swallowed that last bite. No sooner had the last of the ice cream left his mouth then he was asking for more. He was elated when Bampa immediately refilled his bowl. As soon as Brielle finished, he was working on getting more for her as well. He had figured out how to work this amazing system.

The ever-enjoyable story time

Nathan was fascinated with this snow globe. Whenever he saw it and the snow wasn't "falling" he exclaimed, "Broken. Fix it!!!!" After a couple of days, he figured out how to "fix it" and did a great job of keeping that snow a swirlin'.

Great Grandpa Pete, our adopted Grandfather, comes for birthday pie. Nathan insisted on holding his hand the whole way over: stairs, steep hill and all.
